Sweater Development for Brand and Bulk Orders
Knitvella Sweater supports apparel brands, private-label buyers, importers and wholesalers with sweater development and bulk production. Based in Honghe Town, Jiaxing, China, we develop orders around confirmed yarn, gauge, knit construction, measurements, colors, branding and packing requirements.
Our product range includes crew-neck sweaters, cardigans, cashmere and cashmere-blend sweaters, turtlenecks, V-neck styles, cable knits, half-zip sweaters and Christmas knitwear. Development can start from a tech pack, drawing, reference images or a physical garment. We review the specification before sampling to identify details that could affect appearance, cost or production.
Confirm the Design Before Sampling
A reference image helps communicate the intended appearance, but it rarely contains enough information for accurate costing. Neckline dimensions, body proportions, sleeve shape, rib construction and pattern placement need to be defined alongside the target material and quantity.
Through sweater design development, we review these details and clarify missing information. If the yarn or gauge is undecided, buyers can provide a hand-feel reference or intended garment weight. The proposed construction is then reviewed for feasibility before the sample proceeds.
Select Yarn, Gauge and Knit Construction
Material options include cotton, wool, cashmere, acrylic, viscose, polyester, nylon and blends. Selection depends on the required composition, hand feel, garment weight, care expectations and purchasing budget. Cashmere programs require a confirmed fiber composition rather than relying on a product name alone.
Gauge planning typically covers 3G, 5G, 7G, 9G, 12G and 14G, subject to yarn suitability, stitch construction and machine configuration. Rib, cable, jacquard and intarsia details also affect the finished appearance and production requirements. Our yarn and material selection process helps establish a workable material direction before development.
Develop Color, Fit and Product Details
Color development can use available yarn shades or a custom-dyed option, depending on supply conditions and order quantity. Patterned sweaters require confirmation of artwork, color sequence, repeat size and placement. Detailed graphics may need adjustment so they remain clear within the selected knit construction.
Size customization covers the measurement chart, fit and grading requirements. Cardigan plackets, turtleneck height, V-neck depth and half-zip collar dimensions are reviewed for the relevant style. Measurements are checked after finishing because yarn relaxation and washing can change garment dimensions.
Coordinate Branding, Labels and Packaging
Branding can include embroidery, jacquard or intarsia artwork, woven main labels, size labels and care labels. Buttons, zippers and pullers are confirmed by specification and placement. Buyers should provide usable artwork and approve the proposed execution on the relevant sample.
Private-label sweater programs can also include hangtags, barcodes, individual polybags, printed or recycled-material polybags, inner packing, master cartons and buyer-specific carton marks. Label wording, barcode data and packaging files need buyer approval before production or printing.
Approve Samples Before Bulk Production
Available samples normally require about 3–5 days. Standard custom samples typically take 7–12 days, while more involved yarn, pattern or construction development generally requires around 10–15 days. Sample charges, revision arrangements and dispatch costs are confirmed for the project.
During sample development, buyers review material, fit, measurements, colors, workmanship, trims and branding. Required revisions are recorded before approval. Bulk production follows the agreed sample and specification; later changes are reviewed for their effect on material usage, cost and delivery.
Plan MOQ, Production and Delivery
Standard OEM orders are typically around 300–500 pieces per style and color. Basic repeat styles using available yarn may be discussed from about 200 pieces. Custom-dyed yarn or complex constructions may require 500–1,000 pieces or more.
Standard or repeat production typically takes 25–35 days after approval; new OEM programs usually require 35–45 days. Complex or peak-season orders may need 45–60 days. Checks cover knitting, linking, finishing, measurements and packing. EXW, FOB and CIF arrangements are confirmed against the destination and shipment plan.
Send Your Sweater Requirements for Review
Please send your design references, measurement chart, material direction, quantity by style and color, size breakdown, branding, packaging requirements and target shipment date. We can then review feasibility, sampling, MOQ and production planning before finalizing the quotation.
