Turn Your Sweater Brief into a Production Specification
Knitvella Sweater develops custom sweaters for apparel brands, private-label buyers, importers and wholesalers. Projects can cover crew-neck pullovers, cardigans, turtlenecks, V-neck styles, cable knits, half-zip sweaters, cashmere programs and seasonal patterned knitwear.
Each project starts with the intended product, quantity and delivery target. We review the yarn, gauge, construction, measurements, colors, trims and packaging together. This helps identify details that need confirmation before sampling and avoids developing a sample that cannot be reproduced within the planned order conditions.
Choose the Right Starting Point
A technical pack provides the clearest starting point, especially when it includes a measurement chart, construction notes and artwork. Reference photographs or a physical garment can also guide development, but missing specifications need to be clarified.
Buyers adapting an existing style should identify which details must remain and which can change. Through sweater design development, we review neckline shape, sleeve proportions, body length, rib details and closures before confirming the development direction.
Match Materials and Construction to the Product
Available material directions include cotton, wool, cashmere, acrylic, viscose, polyester, nylon and blends. The choice affects hand feel, weight, care requirements, price and yarn availability. Cashmere and cashmere-blend projects require an agreed fiber composition.
Typical gauge planning covers 3G, 5G, 7G, 9G, 12G and 14G, subject to yarn and construction suitability. Fine-gauge basics, heavier cable knits and patterned sweaters require different development decisions. Our knit structure and detail customization review connects the desired appearance with a workable knitted construction.
Confirm Fit, Color and Branding
Custom fit begins with a measurement chart and agreed measuring points. Size grading, neckline dimensions, sleeve shape and body proportions are reviewed for the selected style. Finished measurements are checked after washing and garment finishing.
Color options depend on available yarn shades or custom-dyeing requirements. Jacquard, intarsia and embroidery need confirmation of artwork, scale, placement and colors. Brand details can include woven labels, care labels, hangtags, buttons, zippers and pullers. Packaging is planned around the buyer’s folding, labeling, size assortment and carton requirements.
Use Samples to Resolve Open Details
Samples allow buyers to assess the combined effect of material, construction, fit and finishing. Review comments should identify specific changes, supported by measurements or marked photographs where possible.
Standard custom samples typically require 7–12 days; more involved yarn, pattern or construction development generally takes around 10–15 days. Sample charges and revision arrangements are confirmed for each project. Sample development concludes with an agreed reference and specification for bulk production.
Review Order Conditions Before Production
Standard OEM MOQ is usually around 300–500 pieces per style and color. Basic repeat styles using available yarn may be discussed from about 200 pieces. Custom-dyed yarn or complex constructions may require 500–1,000 pieces or more.
New OEM programs usually require 35–45 days after approval, while complex or peak-season orders may need 45–60 days. Production checks cover knitting, linking, finishing, measurements, branding and packing against the approved requirements.
